Noel has been active in the hydrogen space since 2007 when he started working on a fuel cell project.  Curious to know what Singapore is doing in the hydrogen and fuel cell space, he started the Singapore Fuel Cell Community in 2015.  This interest group brough together a network of individuals from various background to discuss and explore hydrogen and fuel cell development and applications.  Many use cases in Singapore were uncovered and fuelled the expansion the interest group.  With the addition of a 4^th switch in Singapore’s energy mix where Green Hydrogen will be featured, Noel made the call for the setup of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association of Singapore (HFCAS) in 2019.  As a full-fledged trade association, HFCAS offers members greater credibility in exploring partnerships and opportunities with companies, both in Singapore and overseas. This was further cemented with the announcement of the National Hydrogen Strategy and the alignment of HFCAS key strategies to take Singapore to the next step to achieve net zero emissions.  Noel has been serving as the Founding President for HFCAS since 2019.
